Ann Blake-Tracy discussed the role that SSRI’s (pharmaceutical antidepressants) may have played in the Virginia Tech Shooting 2007. 7-10% of people on these drugs can’t metabolize them, she said, and one of the medications, Effexor, lists “homicidal ideation” as one of its side effects.
Biography:
Ann Blake Tracy is the director of the International Coalition for Drug Awareness. She has specialized for 22 years in adverse reactions to serotonergic medications (Antidepressants such as Prozac, Zoloft, Paxil, Luvox, Effexor, Celexa, Lexapro, Cymbalta, Pristiq, Serzone, Anafranil, etc. and the diet pills Fen-Phen, and Redux and the newer Atypical Anti-psychotic medications such as Zyprexa, Geodon, Abilify, Risperdal, Seroquel, etc.) and has testified before the FDA and congressional subcommittee members on Prozac. 5. Mefoquine (Lariam) – A malaria drug that is 9.5 times more likely to be associated with violence than other drugs.
4. Amphetamines – This general class of ADHD drug is 9.6 times more likely to be associated with violence than other drugs.
3. Paroxetine (Paxil) – An SSRI antidepressant drug that is 10.3 times more likely to be associated with violence than other drugs. It is also linked to severe withdrawal symptoms and birth defects.
